Imagine 70 children sitting in a tiny classroom without proper lighting and ventilation. The children of Kothaguda school had to study in such an oppressive environment. In order to improve their learning environment we have fixed 35 fans and 39 tube lights in the classrooms of Kothaguda School. Now the students can study in bright, airy and cheerful classrooms. Reading books significantly increases the potential of children for academic success and changes their lives in significant ways. Keeping this in mind we provided an array of books (Motivational, Fairy tales, biographies of great personalities etc) to the Kothaguda school. Flagstone , a re-insurance company which has been funding several initiatives of Nirmaan at Kothaguda school took up  the commendable responsibility of funding both the library and electricity modules. The inauguration of the electricity and library modules in Kothaguda Zilla Parishad High School was held on 21 march 2009. Mr. Venkat, CEO of Flagstone India, was the chief guest for the inaugural. The Mandal Educational Officer and a few Flagstone employees also graced the ocassion. Mr. Andrew, visiting from the foreign office of Flagstone was very impressed with the work done by Nirmaan. He has been contributing generously for several Nirmaan initiatives. The school library was inaugurated by the MEO who appreciated the efforts of both Flagstone and Nirmaan. Mr.Venkat and the employees of Flagstone interacted with the school children and applauded Nirmaan for their efforts. Inspired by the words of Swami Vivekananda, "We want that education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, intellect is expanded and by which one can stand on one’s own feet", Nirmaan organized a personality development program for the students of Govt. High School, Lalapet in the holy premises of Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad.

Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence, a division of Ramakrishna Math conducted the program free of cost for the VII & VIII class students of Lalapet School. The course focused on Personality Development, Confidence Building, Mind Management, Time Management, Communication Skills and Message of Swami Vivekananda. Through the program the students learnt about the achievements and vision of great personalities of India like Swami Vivekananda and former President of India, Abdul Kalam. All the participants were presented with the book, "Swami Vivekananda and his message to the Nation" to know more about Swamiji’s message.

The response of both the students and teachers of the school to the program was heartening.

"We are very much indebted to Nirmaan Organization for conducting the personality development program in our school as a part of their school development program. The program is unique and is of utmost importance to the students."                       -- Mrs.Sharamani, HM, Govt. High School, Lalapet

"I learnt about Swami Vivekananda and his message to the youth through this session. This program has instilled in me confidence to achieve anything in the world."      --A 9th class student

From 21st June, we organized various sports to the children and distributed the prizes to the winners on the inaugural day. Scholarships were given to three of the 10th class school toppers of 2007 - 08 academic year as an encouragement for their performance and also to improve competitiveness among the present 10th class students.

We have participated in Back To School (Badi Bata) program i.e., convincing the parents of the children below 14 years of age who are not going to the school to join them in the school. We have worked for one week and put in best efforts to convince 19 children to enroll into the school. We have enrolled few children into the school on the inaugural day.
