The Goa Chapter of Nirmaan Organization was established on 2nd October 2007 at BITS Pilani-Goa Campus (now BITS-Pilani, K.K. Birla Goa Campus). This chapter is unique in itself since the area of operation of this chapter is an urban-slum setup, which is quite different from a village in various aspects. The slum is named ZARI; spread over 6.2 acres of land adjoining the BITS Goa Campus and Zuari Industries Limited. The students of BITS Pilani have taken up a holistic approach in improving the socio-economic fabric of the region, and hence Nirmaan Goa has three functioning verticals: Employment Operations, Knowledge Operations and Cleanliness, Health Awareness Operations and a Tech-Enhanced Cell which facilitates use of technology for social betterment!
