Sridhar Neelam, is the CEO of Nirmaan Organization. He holds a Bachelors degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from BITS Pilani.
Right from the start of his college days in Pilani, Rajasthan, he has been an active volunteer of Nirmaan. Passionate about social change and rural development, with his commitment towards the projects of Nirmaan, he has served as the Project Coordinator of Self Help Groups, handled operations of various educational projects and also took up the responsibility of the President of Pilani Chapter.
He worked on improving infrastructure and quality of education in rural Government schools, women empowerment and community mobilization projects. The experiences in rural areas and his passion for humanity eventually led him to choose a career in the social sector. After his graduation, he decided to dedicate himself to rural development and joined Nirmaan as a full time member taking over as the CEO from June 2011. He feels that Social Impact Assessment, Scalability and Sustainability are the major challenges which Nirmaan faces. To overcome these challenges, developing social leadership is the utmost priority for him. He is deeply inspired by the ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi, A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, Muhammad Yunus and Jayaprakash Narayan. His interests include Politics, Administration, Reading Books and Football.

Mr.Vivekananda Vakkalanka is studying B.E.(Hons.) Computer Science in BITS Pilani. He is highly passionate about Telugu Literature and finds pleasure in listening to songs with good lyrical value. His hobbies include writing poems, finding interesting facts in Hindu Mythology and improving knowledge on all the religions.
During his tenure in Nirmaan (August 2008 to Present), his contribution made a significant impact on “Inter Connectivity of Schools” project. He feels that the managing skills he possesses are a result of his work and experience in Nirmaan. As the Coordinator of DHITI 2011(a competition aiming at Technical solutions to Social problems) he was responsible for the successful implementation of some good technical solutions. He strongly believes in Swami Vivekananda’s quote “Blessed are those, whose bodies get destroyed in the service of others”. He feels that Nirmaan gave him a good platform to serve others and contribute to the country’s progress.
In his current responsibility as a Director of Educational Initiatives, he aims at bringing significant change in peoples’ perspective towards education in villages where Nirmaan is working.

Srikumar Murthy is an alumnus of BITS, Pilani. He has been with Nirmaan since 2007 and served in various capacities as Project leader of Self Help Groups and President of Nirmaan-Pilani, before becoming Director, Livelihoods Vertical. At Nimraan-Pilani, Srikumar initiated and led various social initiatives to empower women and to improve quality of education for underprivileged kids. He has also been pivotal in raising sponsorship for various projects, realigning various teams for better organizational efficiency amongst others. Srikumar’s excellence is not only in providing thought leadership but in implementing them as well – a trait he owes it completely to Nirmaan. With his new responsibility as Director of Livelihoods he hopes to bring significant social impact by creating sustainable projects that will make entrepreneurs out of underprivileged women.
Srikumar is passionate about social entrepreneurship and believes it will be instrumental in eradicating most of the socio-economic problems in the country. With this idea he co-founded National Social Entrepreneurship Forum to create and support young social entrepreneurs. Srikumar has also been conferred awards such as the Goldman Sachs Global Leader award and the BITSAA 30 Under 30, which is the highest recognition by the BITS-Pilani Alumni Association to thirty students or alums for their extraordinary achievements before age of 30.

Akash Badave is a professional working at Barclays, Pune and has done his MSc. Biology and B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BITS-Pilani. Being associated with Nirmaan since 2007, he has played roles at various levels in the organization, right from heading rural entrepreneurship wing and employment operations of Nirmaan-Pilani to presiding over the chapter initiating and guiding various projects. He attributes a great deal of learning to this journey in Nirmaan which taught him lessons about problems and realities at grass-roots level, dynamics of social change, organizational management and leadership. Employing these lessons in his current responsibility, he aims at catalyzing an overall community development through trust building, greater participation and local leadership development in the communities where Nirmaan operates. On a personal note, Akash is deeply interested in sustainable technologies and social entrepreneurship. He likes to challenge himself exploring remote areas and facing extremes. He has traversed tribal forests of Jharkhand and Gujrat on foot; spent days with Adivasi families in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra learning about sustainable living of Adivasis. Besides, he is an avid nature lover, a music maniac and a skilled Tabla player.

Manoj Papisetty, an undergraduate in Computer Science from BITS Goa, has been a part of Nirmaan since the past three years. He is a Sports fanatic and enjoys listening to music and reading blogs. In his free time, he works as a freelance Software and Web developer.
He credits his expertise at handling projects and analysis of Organization Behavior largely to being a part of Nirmaan. As the Vice President of the Nirmaan Goa Chapter, he contributed magnificently towards bringing Cultural and Structural changes in the system. Varun has been associated with Nirmaan for the past 4 years and has significantly contributed to the organizations livelihoods initiatives and played a key role in building a strong team at Nirmaan-Pilani. Kunjan Gandhi, a 4th Year undergraduate student at BITS Pilani (Goa), has his interests and achievements scattered into a diverse spectrum- from being a Tata JagritiYatra Alumnus, to being in love with Physics; from being engrosed into Electronics and Electrical to having this great passion for learning new languages and playing Foolball! In the same fashion, his contributions to Nirmaan in the past three years have also been diverse. As a project coordinator of SAP at Nirmaan Goa, he led transformation of two Government-Run Schools into Model Schools by upgrading their Infrastructural Facilities. During his tenure as the President, he played a pivotal role in building an strongand organized Team at Nirmaan Goa. His contributions led to building of strong ties with various organizations like NABARD Bank, NCUI and Father Agnel’s Ashram and Zuari Industries Limited; which helped accelerate the women entrepreneurship program and promote hygienic living in communities in Sancole region of Goa. Being a part of Nimraan, he has learnt a lot about the top down and bottom up approaches to solving social problems and has realized that the world is in dire need of executors than planners. He aspires to use technology as aiding tool for societal development. He firmly believes that good leadership skills, the attitude of problem solving and being able to build a strong culture are three most important virtues of a social change maker.

Tejaswini Poluri, M.Sc Economics and B.E(Hons) Electrical and Electronics from BITS Pilani, is currently working as the Director of Finance Administration and Grassroot Technologies in Nirmaan. She was intimately associated with Nirmaan since 2006 and has played diverse roles starting as an active volunteer of Rural Employment Incubator to Team Lead of Self Help Groups, Event coordinator to Finance Head of Nirmaan Pilani Chapter. She has also played a key role in Nirmaan Scholarship program. She has structured the Finance Department by establishing proper financial guidelines and has also helped in building the organization at various levels. Her experiences in Nirmaan helped her enhance her leadership and decision making skills along with an understanding of grass root problems and Organizational behavior. She has great passion for knowing and exploring new things and with this passion she has done social internships at Byrraju Foundation and National Innovation Foundation where she was exposed to the extreme conditions of the society and the treasure of village knowledge database. She also has a keen interest towards technology and believes that there is great need for our country to work on technological solutions suitable to our living conditions. With this interest along with a prior experience of working as the coordinator of kernel APOGEE (BITS PIlani Tech fest) Events such as Engineering Solutions for Villages and Dhiti, she wanted to create a platform that brings together technical expertise, young talent and grass-roots experience to find suitable grassroottechnological solutions and thus initiated Centre for Grassroot Technologies. He is undergraduate in BE(Hons.) Computer Science from BITS-Pilani. Currently doing a six month internship in a analyst company. Doing something for the society has always inspired him and he is always ready to take up the challenge. Recently he worked on a project which aims at ’Cluster formation among Innovative Primary Teachers’ in IIM-Ahmedabad.
He has been working with Nirmaan since 2009. The journey with Nirmaan began with Gyan-Bodh where evening tuition classes for students are conducted. The project aims at providing better opportunities to nearby students in terms of academics, sports etc and help them decide their field of interest. While working in Nirmaan he learnt a lot of things like time management, team leading, professionalism etc. Nirmaan has always provided an opportunity to work in the field anyone wants and he has utilized it to the best. In his present responsibility he wants to implement similar idea of ‘Cluster Formation’ and come up with modules which contain innovative teaching methods for primary school students.

She has been a part of NIRMAAN since 2008. With a dream of developed India and passion for women empowerment, she played her role in motivating a number of rural women in Pilani and providing them the necessary support from NIRMAAN to be women entrepreneurs. Rakesh is the Associate Director of Livelihood Initiatives of Nirmaan Organisation. He is presently pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bits Pilani. He is interested in entrepreneurship and management.
He is an active volunteer of Nirmaan from the first year of his college and has been working with Nirmaan from the past three years. With his passion for rural development he joined as a volunteer for Self Help Groups and showed significant contribution for the project. He worked as the head of Publicity Team for Nirmaan and played a key role in publicizing and creating social awareness among the people. As the Coordinator of Nirmaan for Oasis 2010 (Cultural Fest of Bits Pilani), he organised a stall to sell the products made by rural women and made significant amount of profits. He was also successful in creating awareness among the students by organising events namely Big Fight, Head On and Posterama (Events during the cultural fest). He feels that Nirmaan gave him an opportunity to contribute for the betterment of society and he credits it for his managerial and soft skills.

Prakriteesh is currently in his fourth year pursuing B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and Msc in Physics from BITS-Pilani Goa Campus. During his years in Nirmaan he has worked through employment and technology projects, and is interested in project planning for community development . Sruthi is pursuing M.Sc.Biological Sciences and B.E. Computer Science at BITS Pilani, K.K.Birla Goa Campus, with a passion for Computer Engineering. She has been an active participant in various activities on campus, from being a basketball player in the college team to leading the Design Team of the Bits Annual Magazine-2010. She is associated with Nirmaan since 2008 where she began with being a member of The Cleanliness and Awareness Team at the Goa Chapter. While her tenure as HR-Head at Nirmaan Goa she played a key role in establishing Nirmaan as a brand on campus and building motivated volunteer base for the chapter. Her contributions were significant in terms of efficient decision making and critical analysis upon several issues in the organization. She also organized events like Joyfest and Spree Marathon on a grand scale on behalf of Nirmaan-Goa. She was also a part of modeling an adult literacy operation - “Prerna” at a slum called Zari.

Anil Thontepu, a final year undergraduate student at BITS-Pilani owing to his passion in social entrepreneurship is interning with Goonj, an N.G.O based in Delhi. He was amongst the 25 young leaders who were awarded NSEF Author of Change for the year 2010 by National Social Entrepreneurship Forum.
He has been associated with NIRMAAN since 2007 August and has played prominent roles in building up the brand of the organization by his strong networking skills. His work in Nirmaan has been mainly about conducting successful events which provided potential platform for the organization to portray its effective impact in the sector. Working with Nirmaan has shifted his childhood love for entrepreneurship to social entrepreneurship.
As the Associate Director, Fund Raising he intends to create a proper setup for the organization which could give a crystal clear picture of the specific requirement of the projects so that each of them could be addressed accordingly.

Shanthi Swaroop is in his final year studying computer science at BITS Pilani. He’s been associated with Nirmaan for past 3 years and considers it as the only worthwhile thing he’s done in college. He has worked across various projects in Nirmaan and made a significant contribution to them. Chandolu Sravya is presently a final year student of M.Sc.(Tech)Information systems at BITS-Pilani. Being a part of the Developed India has always been her dream. In the journey of achieving this dream, she joined Nirmaan in 2008. She started as a Volunteer for Inter Connectivity of Schools project and learnt that competition is what makes every individual grow and prosper. Carrying this lesson forward, she joined the Human Resources team to make her fellow volunteers competent enough to make the organization grow and prosper. She led the Human Resources team where she formalized the documentation and instilled the bigger picture of Nirmaan in the minds of the volunteers. She discovered traits like time management, professionalism in her while working at Nirmaan. With Nirmaan as a platform, she would like to see herself as a Social Entrepreneur.

Sindhura is currently pursuing M.Sc. (Tech.) Information Systems from BITS Pilani K. K. Birla Goa Campus. She has been working for Nirmaan since 2008. She had been a part of Cleanliness and Health Awareness Operations for the first two years when she helped identify strategic locations in the nearby slum for the first phase of Cleanliness Project and also helped organize Blood Donations Camps. She had been the lead for Public Relations and Employment Operations for a year during which she led two teams, one which successfully handled print and digital media, and the other which successfully worked for the establishment of a sustainable self help group. Being a part of Nirmaan, she gained experience in dealing with issues concerning to Community Development and Women Empowerment.
Currently as an Associate Director for Public Relations, she is working to establish an NGO network for Nirmaan that facilitates interaction between experts in different areas and promotes the sharing of ideas and information. Also, exploring techniques to enable Nirmaan to increase institutional capacities.

Trishool is a senior undergraduate pursuing M.Sc(Hons.)Economics with B.E(Hons.)Computer Science at BITS-Pilani. He joined Nirmaan in August'08. Since his inception, he has been holding diversified responsibilities and presently is the Associate Director for Finance and Administration vertical of Nirmaan.
He believed in the very fact that the Youth of our country is the driving force for change in the present society. With this ideology,he started off as a volunteer at Rural Employment Incubator where he contributed to the upliftment of the unemployed youth in rural villages around pilani. He held the responsibility of a Treasurer in his third year. During his tenure as a treasurer, he improved the financial structure of Nirmaan at Pilani. He also played the role of a Apogee Coordinator, where he coordinated events like India Quiz and Dhiti. He strongly believes that while working at Nirmaan, he could polish his managerial, entrepreneurial and communication skills.
As an associate director of Finance and Administration, he is looking forward to formalize the financial structure of Nirmaan and to eliminate the loopholes at administrative level.
